All-Round Rest.

All-Round Rest.

Ministering: Assistant Pastor  Alaba Olanipekun.

Text: 1 Kings 5:3-4.

“3 Thou knowest how that David my father could not build a house unto the name of the Lord his God for the wars which were about him on every side until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet. But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.”

We live in a restless world and as believers in Christ Jesus, we enjoy true rest in Christ Jesus. John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. You may be wondering, is it possible to have all-round Rest in a restless world? God’s Word says Yes, All round Rest is a Reality in The Kingdom of God. All-round Rest is your heritage as a child of God. 3 John 1:2 – “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

The Presence of God is our greatest asset to experience all-round Rest.

1. Moses experienced all-round Rest going by Exodus 33:14 – And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.

2. Solomon also experienced all-round Rest going by 1 Kings 5:4

3. Judah also experienced in 2 Chronicles 14:7 – Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

How Do I Secure God’s All Round Rest?

2 Chron. 15:3-16.

1. Get reconnected to God if you have been disconnected. Matt. 11:28, Rev. 2:2-4

2. Get a Teacher of The Word of God and follow instructions. Acts 8:30-39, 2 Tim. 3:16, Ps. 107:20

3. Living by The Law of God. Mark 10:17-22, Jer. 6:16

4. Offer Sacrifice unto The Lord, not to man. 2 Chron. 15:11, Heb. 13:15

5. Make a Covenant to seek God. 2 Chron. 15:12

John 15:4 – Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

In closing, God is The Only “Impossibility Specialist” Matthew 11:28 – 30. “28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
