Text: Matt. 15:21-28.
” 21 Then Jesus went thence and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. 23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread and to cast it to dogs. 27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.“
The life of a mother is a life that gives everything at all times. They give birth and nurture. Mothers occupy a strategic place in God’s plan on the earth. Our families and nations are by-products of the quality of mothers. Women are incubators, teachers, nurturers, mentors, and all that is needed to fulfill God’s plan. They endure great hardship and agony for the sake of ensuring we become something worthwhile in life. Thank You, Mothers, for the daily sacrifices to make us who we are today.
Our above Text is a classic example of the extent a mother can go to in order to ensure the well-being of a child. She went beyond the extra mile to access The Lord, she even swallowed her pride, accepted what may sound like a seeming “insult” on her person (dogs), yet she did not give up in ensuring she got whatever was needed to secure healing for her daughter. Mothers would go to any extent and surmount mountains to ensure the solution is gotten for their children. They invest a great deal of time in Prayer and Fasting to ensure we fulfill destiny in life. Nothing comes cheap, someone must have paid the price for whatever may have looked easy we are enjoying in life. May The Lord reward our Mothers in Jesus’ Name.
Mothers do not give up until success is attained in the family.
Unfortunately, having labored for their children, some mothers are not alive to eat the fruit of their labor – we salute their labor, courage, and sacrifices.
It is a good and honorable thing to only reasonable to appreciate our mothers in words and kinds give in return for all their returns. A Woman is like raw material, whatever input you make in their life, they multiple it back to you.
What Men Should do to Appreciate Mothers?
1. Recognize they need companionship, not just roommates. Gen. 2:18
2. We should take care of their needs
3. Recognize they need us especially in the time of crisis and life pressures.
4. Help them to pursue and fulfill their God-given Visions.
5. We should tolerate and be patient with their seeming weaknesses.
6. We should pray and intercede for them
What Children Should do to Appreciate Mothers?
1. We should celebrate our mothers for the enormous job they are doing.
2. We should obey them. Eph. 6:1-2
3. We should honor their words.
4. Do not forget them in their old age.
5. Ensure you do well in life, this is a great return on investment to them.
