Text: Revelation 4:1-4.
“ 1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats, I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.“
From our above Text, John was told to come up higher in order to see the invisible and hear the inaudible. This is God’s Goal for us as we go into the Year 2021 – “To Come Up Higher”. Every man is designed to operate at the optimum. In Christ Jesus, we are redeemed to operate in our best possible realm and optimum which is “The Higher Ground”.
“If you will lift me up, you have to be on the higher ground” – Ralph Emerson. You will be a disappointment to not only your generation but to God Himself if you fail to attain your optimum. This is why your heart cry as you go into the Year 2021 is to come up higher in Prayer, the study of His Word, His Vision for your life, etc. God is saying you need to come up Higher to be able to see and hear what you need to attain your optimum in the Year 2021. The Day God shows you higher things, discouragements will be a thing of the past (Joseph – son of Jacob, is an example), also nothing under Heaven will ever threaten you.
No matter what you have achieved, God is saying there are Higher and Greater grounds ahead of you in 2021.
It is a disaster to be complacent with whatever God has done through you, He still has far more to get done. Paul said in Phil. 3:13-14 – Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
How Do You Get To Your Higher Ground
1. Do not set out in 2021 without The Power of God – Rev. 4:2
2. Wait for Him. Do not jump ahead of God in 2021 – Luke 24:49, Isa. 40:31
3. Know The God Who has called you. Ps. 23:1, Phil. 3:8-11
4. Be Diligent to the calling of God upon your life. Deut. 28:1, Rom. 12:11, Col. 3:23
5. Praise will enhance your speed to Higher Ground. Joshua 6:20
6. Fasting & Praying – Matt. 17:21, Jer. 33:3
7. The Word of God should become a Light on Your Path – Joshua 1:8
There is so much to still be attained in your life – lives and destinies to touch and impart. They that walk, walk with the crowd, they that run, run with the few, they that fly, fly alone!
