Text: Haggai 1:1-11.
” 1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying, 2 Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord‘s house should be built. 3 Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste? 5 Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. 8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord. 9 Ye looked for much, and, lo it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. 10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.”
To consider your ways means to examine one’s life. Prov. 6:6-11. It is to evaluate our doings. Job 1:8. It is an instruction from God that requires urgent attention. It also an expression of love. It is the person one loves that you correct. Heb. 12:5-7 tells us how God disciplines and chastens those He loves. Rev. 3:19 – As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore zealous and repent.
God sends His Word for us so that we can consider our ways. Isaiah 55:11 – So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 45:23, Phil. 2:9-11. God is not a man that should lie, He watches over His Word to perform it.
Why do I have to Consider My Ways?
1. Because God said so! Haggai 1:5,7.
2. Because of the negative words you are saying. Haggai 1:2.
3. Because you are executing your own projects & plans at the expense of God’s Own. Haggai 1:4.
4. Because you do are not having an understanding of the time and season you are in. Dan. 2:21, Ecc. 3:1.
5. Because you are sowing or doing so much but reaping little of nothing – Haggai 1:6, John 15:4-5.
6. Because Heaven appears closed over your life. Haggai 1:9-11, 2 Chron. 7:13.
7. Because you doing what God has not assigned you to do. Haggai 1:9, Exod. 34:14.
Saul was reprimanded in 1 Sam. 15:17,19 for not aligning to God’s plans.
We all need to consider our ways before The Lord; how far have we gone to fulfill His Agenda for our lives? I counsel you to partner with God anew. Self-Government is forbidden in The Kingdom of God; He wants to be Lord over every aspect of your life. God is The Only One Who can attain the supernatural in our lives. Eccl. 4:9. When you partner with God, you have a better reward. Is God the priority in your lives? Follow the examine of The Lord partnering The Father to accomplish the Supernatural.
We are need to turn and seek The Lord like never before so that our Prayers would be answered. 2 Chron. 7:13-14
How do you know God’s Agenda? Seek Him with your inner man and continue to Behold Him so His Plans will be fulfilled. Prov. 20:27
In closing, Psalm 37:4-5 says “Delight yourself also in The Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to The Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
God Bless You!
