Text: Joshua 6:1-5.
” 1 Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. 2 And the Lord said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valor. 3 And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. 4 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.”
Today is the End of the 63 days of RCCG proclaimed Fasting and Prayers; we are here this morning to praise. Without a doubt, there is a God factor in this fast we are concluding today as the fast was divided into 3 Segments (21 days each of thanksgiving, Mercy, and demanding prayers) and 3 is a sign of trinity. Psalm 119:132 says – Look upon me and be merciful to me, As your custom is toward those who love Your Name. We are grateful that God has granted us our petitions, thus, we need to praise Him for the performance and manifestation of our answered prayers.
From our above text, despite the barricade around Jericho, praises crumbled the walls of the city. No matter the obstacles contending with your miracles, through your praises those obstacles will lead to your miracle in Jesus’ name. God told Joshua He had handled over the city of Jericho to him, He is saying the same to us as well; everything you need to succeed this year, God has handed them over to you. Jericho was part of the promised land, but there were obstacles restraining God’s people from possessing their possessions.
Understand that God is a God of details, He asked them to go round the wall once every day and 7 times on the 7th day, as His people obeyed, the wall crumbled before them. We are following through with whatever instruction God has given to us. Obedience to God turns impossibility into sweat-less Possibility.
