Text: Mark 3:1-5.
” 1 And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand. 2 And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. 3 And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth. 4 And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. 5 And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”
A Withered Hand situation is when a part of your life is not functioning at the full capacity. God is here to heal and restore any withered hand situation. A marriage, career, health, ministry, could be having a withered hand situation. A Withered hand makes you unnecessarily dependent on others, it is you a shadow of yourself; you are not what God has called you to be.
God is The One capable to reversing any “withered hand” situation. From our above Text, He restored back a withered hand in a split of seconds. This is Your Day! Psalm 118:24 – This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. This means your Day is not in the hands of man or devil, it is in The Hands of God.
Isaiah 61:3 – To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.
In John 9, The Lord gave an undeniable Testimony to a man born blind. You may have come heavy, depressed, be rest assured that The Lord will exchange your sorrow for joy with Testimonies.
God never abandons any work He starts. He is committed to whatever He starts like we see in Ezekiel 37, where He restored life to dry bones. In creation, He completed every aspect without any abandonment. He will never abandon you.
John 5:25 – Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
From our above Text, we also see The Lord doing what looked improbable by healing a man of his infirmities. The mockers were watching and The Lord manifested God’s Power to their shame. Everywhere The Lord goes, He does good, this is why He restored the health of the withered man. Do you have a withered situation or challenge? The Lord is here to reverse that situation to His Glory. God knows the issues of everyone of us, even the ones we are not aware of – He is here to give as many that believe their undeniable Testimony. Before healing the man, He first forgave his sins, as this might have been the cause or hindrance to his healing.
God never leaves His people the way He met them. Always, without fail, He changes their situation for the better.
Also the lame man at the Beautiful Gate in Acts 3 had his Day of undeniable Testimony. An undeniable Testimony shuts the mouth of the adversaries.
Zacheccus also had his day of undeniable Testimony when He encountered The Lord by the Silcamore Tree
Causes of a Withered Hand Situation
1. Sin – Prov. 14:34, Rom. 6:1
2. Departing from your Source. John 15:6, Heb. 10:25
3. Failure to keep on bearing fruit – John 15:16
4. Disobedience to The Word of God – Deut. 28:1-2
