Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo.
Text: Rev. 19;1-6.
” 1 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honor, and power, unto the Lord our God: 2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. 3 And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up forever and ever. 4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. 5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fears him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.“
You shall increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side. Ps. 71:21. As the Redeemed of The Lord, we are not meant for the valley but the mountaintop.
The above Text is a scene of what happened in the midst of Praise in Heaven. This teaches us that our Praises shake off every darkness away, just like Paul and Silas did in Acts 16. Rev. 4:11 says God has created all things for His Pleasure. We were created to Praise Him and not to be under any form of bondage.
God being Omnipotent means God is ever in charge and reigns in the affairs of Men. God is the Possessor of everything that is great. Ps. 22:3 – But You are Holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel. The results of what You get when you are praising Him depends on Your Knowledge of Him. If you praise Him as the Possessor of Greatness, He makes you great. God alone is worthy of our Praise, not any man nor even ourselves. God hates to share His Glory with any man. Herod tried to share His Praise and he didn’t live to tell the story – Acts 12:21-23. Never arrogate the power of God to any man, be careful when praising men for what God has done in your life.
Praise brings the Power of God down. One of His Titles is “The King of Kings and Lord of Lords” – He is King over barrenness and Lord over all things and situations. Every battle that comes to your life is a way of lifting. Jehoshaphat’s battle against the 3 nations lead to his lifting. 2 Chron. 20.
Implications of Praising God
- Praises move God to action. Praises attract Him speedily. Ps. 68:1-2.
- God comes with the Host of Heaven and deals with everything contrary to His Plan in Your life. Kings don’t travel alone. Rev. 19:14-15.
- When God visits in response to Praise, He drops His Gift of Greatness for You. Luke 5.
- When God arises, every enemy scatters – 2 Chron. 20:24-25.
- Your Victory (Healing, Blessing) will be made permanent. The grateful leper in Luke 17.
In closing, Rev 4:8-9 – The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him Who sits on The Throne, Who lives forever and ever.
God Bless You!
