Text: Ps. 30:1-7.
“1 I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.3 O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.5 For his anger endured but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.7 Lord, by thy favor thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.” KJV.
It is a good thing to give thanks to The LORD. Continually in Scripture God tells us,“ Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing” (Isa. 43:18-19). Harvest in the Old Testament was to celebrate the harvest of wheat; God instructed Moses on this practice in Lev. 23:9-14″
Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest. He shall wave the sheaf before The Lord, to be accepted on your behalf; on the day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it.” The reality of this Harvest was on the Day of Pentecost when The Holy Ghost was pouring on the Disciples in Acts 2. It was after The Holy Ghost came into them that they began to Harvest Souls by performing signs and miracles beyond human capabilities.
On the Day of Pentecost (the true Harvest Day), certain important things happened:
- Power came as Promised – Jn. 1:11
- All long-time promises came to fulfillment
- There was great Profiting (little effort yielding great returns)
- An increase came in everything they did.
- There was a New Glorious Beginning (The Church was Birthed in the Festival of Harvest)
- The Power of God manifested in everyone in the Upper Room.
- The People in the City marveled at the Glory and Power bestowed on the Disciples. Acts 2:11-12
God Bless You!
