Text: Rev. 5:1-6.
“1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.” KJV.
John was told to behold the Lion, but what he saw was “a Lamb”. Revelation 5, is focused on Christ as the Lion-Lamb. It is as the prevailing Lion and the redeeming Lamb, Christ was found worthy to open the seals. Every precious thing is “sealed” in life. There are seals over things, dreams, lives etc. It is the Glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honor of kings is to search out a matter. God does not hide things from His children, He hides things for His children. God seals things for our advantage and benefit. All through Scriptures, God sealed things and then unveiled them to His children. Joseph and Daniel rose to stardom because sealed things were unveiled to them. For you to get to the next level in Life, a seal has to be removed. Our Lord Jesus, the Lion-Lamb is an unveiled of seals.
In every field or vocation, there are still untapped areas yet to be discovered. It is the Lord’s will to unveil sealed things to us, so could birth what eyes have not seen nor ears heard in our various fields or vocations. There is a seal over every land, every year, every relationship, and every situation we encounter in life. Nothing just happens. When the seals are removed, our response will be different, we count it all joy and see every trial as “promotion opportunity”. God has not only sealed things, He has also “sealed” us with His Spirit. Eph. 1:13, mentions we have been sealed with the Holy Spirit. This means there is more to our lives than meets the natural eye. Only treasures of great values are sealed.
There is a seal over every special abilities we have been endowed with. If the seal was not removed, Moses may have thought his rod was an ordinary walking stick. That same rod parted the red sea and brought forth water from a rock. Whatever God will use to promote us is already in our hands; We just need the seal to be removed so that our eyes be enlightened.
How are seals unveiled?
- First, we should be grateful and thankful over everything (spouse, job, etc.) – John 6:1-14
- As we behold Him continually, the Lord takes away every veil. 2 Cor 3:16 says whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away
In closing, our Risen Lord is a Lion-Lamb savior. As a Lion He prevailed to open the scroll and loose the seals of God to us. As a Lamb He fosters our fellowship with the Father so that sealed things could be unveiled to us.
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living Creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood, Rev. 5:8-9.
God Bless You!
