Text: Gal. 4:6.
” 6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” KJV
“ABBA FATHER” is a hallowed term of familiarity between God the Father and His children. It is a personable characteristic of calling God. Abba Father is a title preserved only for those born of God in Christ. Gal. 4:6 – “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Only through the Holy Spirit can a mortal man call God “Abba Father”.
We have a personable right to call God, Abba Father. According to Romans 8:15-16, the Holy Spirit is the medium of our adoption as Sons of God. The Lord Jesus’ favorite name of addressing God is “Father”. Mark 14:36 – “And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.” According to Malachi 1:6, sons are to honor their fathers. Our worship is our honor to God. Your attitude and act of worship is dependent on the state of your heart and passion for God.
Worship is an act of trust in God. Ps. 118:8. There are over 100 verses on why worship is due to God. We were created to worship God. Isa. 43:20-21 – “The beast of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise.
Worship is acknowledging and singing the awesomeness of God. God is awesome in His person and ways. Before Him, all bow in awe! There is nothing like His presence. God is not any better by our worship. Your worship is for your benefit; God is most blessed in Himself whether any creature worships Him or not. His Glory is in Himself and not in any other thing.
In closing, Worship is both an act and an attitude of gratitude to God. Worship is an offering Thanksgiving to Him for everything.
God bless you!
