Text: 2 Chron. 20:20-30.
” 20 And they rose early in the morning and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever. 22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. 23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped to destroy another. 24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. 25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. 26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the Lord: therefore, the name of the same place was called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day. 27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the Lord had made them to rejoice over their enemies. 28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the Lord. 29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel. 30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about.“ KJV
Battles are a norm in life. The joy of the Christian faith is that we serve a God who takes over our battles as we praise Him. Our above text is a classic example of how praise activates divine encounter. The wind or pressure of life have killed some but for us in Christ Jesus, every wind or pressure only takes us higher as we praise Him. God gets involved in our lives and brings us into our wealthy place as we praise Him.
Ps. 124 says “If it had not been God who has been on our side …….” so many battles God wins on our behalf that we are not even aware of us; this is why we are forever indebted to praising Him. God broke the snares on your behalf and always stands behind you – what a good God we serve!
Involvement means to have a hand in a situation. Divine involvement is God putting His Hand in your situation. We need God’s involvement every day because of the evil imagination of the wicked against us. Ps. 21:11. The 3 Nations that conspired against the Nation of Judah met with utter destruction because of God’s Involvement. The people of God offered uncommon praise to God in order to activate His involvement. God is still the same, He has not changed, He will get involved as you praise Him. God is bigger than every mountain or issue.
What Happens when God gets involved?
- He will give you what you don’t deserved. E.g., the Syro-Phoenician woman
- The incurable disease will be cured. He will reverse the irreversible.
- He will turn your failure to success. He turned Peter’s all-night toiling/failure into success
- There will be sudden and accelerated promotion.
- He will hand over to you unusual favor
- He will send divine Helpers to you. 2 Chron. 20:20
- He will fight your battles and silent all your enemies permanently
- He will turn lack into plenty – Matt 14:13-21
- He will turn death into life. Dead situations will resurrect. Lazarus in John 11
- You will become a blessing that all want to be associated with. Like Peter’s net-breaking catch.
In closing, as we praise God, He blesses us and pain is inflicted on our enemies. You must Praise God with a pure heart and a clean hand. God does not want a heart filled with iniquity or hands soiled with sin. Ask for the cleansing of The blood of Jesus Christ.
God bless you!
