Overwhelming Testimonies – The Power in Asking.

Overwhelming Testimonies – The Power in Asking.

Ministering: Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Matt. 7:7-11.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? 10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?KJV.

God is His Sovereignty has created a platform for men to invite Him to intervene in their affairs – this platform is called “prayer”. We are in a season God is answering prayers. Our above text is a proof that God is a prayer answering God.

Ever since the fall of man in Eden, God now prefers to be invited before He intervenes in any situation on Earth. This is likely due to Adam blaming God for giving him a woman that caused his downfall. Since then, anything anyone wants from Heaven must be presented on the Altar of prayer. In Isaiah 41 God says we should produce our cause and bring forth our strong reason. Also Jer. 33:3 also says call upon me and I will show you great and mighty things you know not. God is waiting for us to call upon Him to intervene. Prayer has been defined as Earth making a request to Heaven to intervene in an area of life. Prayer is Earthly permission for Heavenly interference.

Every year is pregnant with the good and the bad – it is in the place of prayers we program the manifestation of all the good things loaded in the year and also abort every evil thing programmed into the year. Job 38:12 – Have you commanded the morning since your days began, and caused the dawn to know its place. Prayer quickens our journey to the place of destiny fulfillment. The fact that God is present somewhere does not mean everything will go well; if Mary had not told Jesus about the finished wine, they may not have experienced their miracle.

“ASK” means making a request. It also means saying something to get an answer. You can make a request concerning your destiny, spouse, children, health, etc. God has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. James 4: 2-3 –“Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures”.

Examples of Those that Asked

  • Hannah was very specific in prayer – “a Man-Child”.
  • Solomon was specific in prayer, he asked for wisdom and God gave him wisdom and much more. Wisdom is the most profitable things to ask of God, it solves and avoids lots of problem. You need wisdom to navigate through 2025 successfully. There is a “customized wisdom” God wants to give you for any challenge before you – ask Him for wisdom.
  • Jabez was specific in prayer and God answered him because he was honorable.
  • Elijah called upon the God that answers by fire and Heaven responded before he finished asking.
  • Blind Bartimaeus called upon the Lord and was very specific for the healing of his sight – Mark 10:42-52

Conditions for Answered Prayers

  • Obey God’s commandment – Deut. 28:1-2
  • Forgive others – Mark 11:24-25
  • Ask God to purge you of any iniquity and renew the right spirit within you – Ps. 51:7, 10
  • Ask in faith. James 1:16
  • Begin to give Him thanks in everything – 1 Thess. 5:18

In closing, what is ahead of you is far better than what you have ever seen in your life. As you ask in prayer, the Lord will give you abundance, peace like a river, blessing beyond your expectation, transformation and overwhelming testimonies! God always surpasses our expectation whenever we seek Him in prayer – “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” Eph. 3:20. Isaiah 59:1-2 – “Behold, the Lord’s Hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

God Bless You!
