Movie Sunday: THE FORGE

The Forge is an American Christian film about nineteen-year-old Isaiah Wright and his journey in navigating faith and surrendering himself to the Lord. Isaiah was raised by his single mother, Cynthia, and he held a deep-seated resentment towards his father.

“The Forge” explores the themes of discipleship, mentorship, and finding purpose

1. Isaiah Wright, lacking direction and purpose in life, is challenged by his mother to get a job and take responsibility for his future.

2. He finds employment at Moore Fitness, where he encounters Joshua Moore, a Christian businessman who becomes his mentor.

3. Through Joshua’s guidance and the prayers of his mother, Isaiah begins a journey of faith and discipleship, learning valuable life lessons and discovering God’s purpose for him.

4. Isaiah’s journey is depicted as a process of spiritual “forging,” where he is shaped and molded through life’s challenges and the influence of godly mentors.

In conclusion, the movie is about Isaiah, a year out of high school with no plans for his future, he is challenged by his single mom and a successful businessman to start charting a better course for his life. Through the prayers of his mother and Biblical discipleship from his new mentor, he begins discovering God’s purpose for his life is so much more than he could hope for or imagine.

And He said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My Sake will Save it”. Luke 9:23-24.
