Text: John 4:23-24.
“23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” KJV.
God is ever seeking True Worshippers (not false worshippers whose heart are not pure). Worshipping God is not just about singing, it’s about having the right attitude and heart-posture towards God. Worship is honoring God in all aspects of life both formally and informally with your entire being. Worship can be done through several ways, your Body, your Money, your Lifestyle, how you treat People, etc.
Admonition to Music Ministers (Choir Members)
As a Music Minister, realize a true worshipper is not a performer but a co-Partner with God in ministering life (not death) to the people. Always see yourself as a servant leader given the rare privilege to serve the people of God. It is a High calling that demands a consecrated lifestyle so that the right spirit can be dispensed in every ministration. You must be a man or woman of the closet – it is what the Father sees in the secret that He will reward in the open.

- A Healthy Lifestyle. Romans 12:1-2 AMP.
- Walking in Love towards others. 1 John 4:7-8

- Silence, Reflection and Meditation
- Living a Holy Life
- Transformation
- Finding God is Everyday Tasks
DAVID WAS A WORSHIPPER – The Character of David in the Book of Psalms is one who we can exemplify when it comes to true worship. Ps. 63:1, 27:4. David knew God was his sustainer, hence was an addict-worshipper.
What I Must do to be an Instrument of Worship
- You must be set apart and ready to be used by God. 2 Tim. 2:21
- You must be cleansed from all unrighteousness and carry spiritual purity. 1 John 1:9
- You must be available and a willing vessel. Isaiah 6:8
When we desire the presence of God above all else, we live in alignment with our design as worshippers of Him. Worship is how our life will be in Eternity future (Heaven), we might as well use our earthly living as a dress-rehearsal for that glorious unending lifestyle.
In closing, God is ever seeking for worshippers. Rev. 4:10-11 – “The Twenty-Four elders fall down before Him Who sits on the Throne and worship Him Who lives forever and ever, and cast their Crowns before the Throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
IGA Choir is now officially rebranded and is to be known as “Ignite Worship” – We are a movement of passionate worshippers, lighting hearts on fire for Jesus through authentic spirit filled praise. Heb. 12:28-29.
