LET’S CELEBRATE!

LET’S CELEBRATE!

June 2025 | Divine Connection | Thanksgiving Sunday

Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo

Text: Psalm 100.

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.KJV.

We are here this morning to celebrate God’s goodness, faithfulness, protection and countenance over our lives. Praise is a celebration of the greatness of God’s Majesty. Thanksgiving is appreciating God for His countless doings in our lives and families. Even if He has not done that which we have been asking, He is still worthy of our praise, because Psalm 150 says “Let Everything that has breath praise the Lord!” As long as you are still breathing, God is not through with your life, He still has more than eyes have seen.

Celebration is usually synonymous with a “Party Environment”. The Church is a merry center where the source of our rejoicing is the Most High God, who dwells in the praises of His people. Praises provokes the Hand of God over any issue. We are to put aside any heaviness or trouble when we come before Him, because He is the God of all flesh for there is nothing too hard for Him.

We praise Him with a triumphant shout (a sound of faith). We praise Him in faith because we know victory is assured anytime praise is engaged in warfare – 2 Chronicles 20 is a classic example. Praise is acting in faith that God has already done what you are praying about. When you are singing to Him even when you don’t know when the next meal will come from, you are acting in faith. Paul and Silas praised Him in faith and their chains fell off.

When we praise Him in celebration of His goodness, it is a sign of victory. In Exodus 15:1-3, Israel sang His praise for His Mighty Hand of deliverance from Egypt. The Habitation of God is praise because Ps. 22 tells us He inhabits in the praises of His people.

Praise is Prophetic – this means you are declaring the intended end and rejoicing like you already have the victory. Therefore, the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away. Isaiah 51:11

In closing, Psalm 149 – “Let the High praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise Ye the Lord.”

God Bless You!
