GLORY AFTER SHILOH.

GLORY AFTER SHILOH.

June 2025 | Divine Visitation

Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo

Text: 1 Samuel 1:1-10

1Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim Zophim, of the mountains of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lordwere there. And whenever the time came for Elkanah to make an offering, he would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters. But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the Lord had closed her womb. And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb. So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. Then Elkanah her husband said to her, “Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?” So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the Lord10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the Lord and wept in anguish.KJV.

We welcome you back from our annual RCCG Americas convention (our own Shiloh); We indeed encountered the God signs and wonders this year’s convention. God visited us with countless testimonies. The question now is – what normally comes next after a divine visitation? Glory! There is always a “glory” after Shiloh.

Our above text relates to Hannah’s encounter after Shiloh – her long-standing problem disappeared and turned into a trans-generational testimony (birth of Samuel). Hannah’s shame became glory after a prophetical word from the man of God (Eli, God’s priest). The state of Hannah before Shiloh was less than desirable (barrenness) but after Shiloh, fruitfulness became her lot.

What does “Shiloh” Symbolize?

  • Shiloh is a center of divine gathering; a place where God’s people encounter God supernaturally
  • Shiloh is the resting place for God’s presence. The Ark hitherto dwelled in the Tabernacle (while they sojourned in the wilderness) but in the promise land, they built a Temple where they gathered to encounter God in Shiloh
  • Shiloh is a place of prophetic change
  • Shiloh is where life is positively changed and things altered for good

What Happened to Hannah’s Visit to Shiloh?

  • She had an unforgettable encounter. Likewise same for you from Obadiah 1:17
  • She got a prophetic word and thus, made a vow (to come back to testify) – 1 Sam. 1:11
  • She tied her expectation to a promise (by vowing to return the child to God)

What do You do with What You have Received in Shiloh?

  • Walk in Faith (per the word you received)
  • Put action behind your faith. Hannah rose up and her countenance was no more sad. 1 Sam. 1:18
  • Worship God in advance – 1 Samuel 1:19
  • She fulfilled her vow. 1 Samuel 1:28

What Happened to Hannah after Shiloh?

  • Hannah’s request was granted – she bore Samuel.
  • Multiplication came (She bore more sons and daughters). 1 Sam. 2:21
  • She was no more a victim but a voice to be reckoned with
  • She shifted something in her generation – barrenness was erased from a lineage.

In conclusion, “And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the Lord, mine horn is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. There is none Holy as the Lord: for there is none beside Thee: neither is there any rock like our God.”

Christ in you, the Hope of glory. May God birth through you a solution the world is looking for.

God Bless You!
