Ministering: Pastor Sam Adeniran.
Text: Romans 12:1-2.
“1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Ps. 50:14 – 14 Offer to God thanksgiving, And pay your vows to the Most High.” NKJV
An unreasonable service is the service rooted in the flesh and not in the spirit. It is earthly focused and not Heavenly focused. 1 John 2:15-16. An unreasonable service could be likened to a dead work (Hebrews 9:14). A dead work is from doings for God that have not being purged from a dead conscience. Christ is coming for a Church without spot or wrinkle.
A reasonable service is a “spirit-directed” service rooted in a pure conscience unto God and to man. 2 Tim. 1:3. Secondly, a reasonable service is the worshipping of God with the totality of oneself (the spirit, the soul and the body) without minding the attending consequences. It is a service centered on God without minding the cost. Case study of Esther in Esther 4:16. Phil. 3:7-8. Thirdly, it is an acceptable service onto God so as to be transformed and conformed to the image of Christ. (Rom. 12:1-2). Fourthly, it is a holy service which demands sacrificial offering to God. Mal. 1:8-9. Fifthly, it is a service of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a divine instruction that must be obeyed with purpose and intention. Ps. 50:14, Ps. 100:4
Benefits of Offering Reasonable Service to God
- Those who render reasonable service will get rewarded from the Lord.
- A reasonable service can bring an end to any catastrophe in a family or nation. 2 Sam. 24:15
- Healing, revival, reversal from death can take place by your reasonable Service. 2 Kings 20:3
In closing, the Lord said in Revelation 22:12 – And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. Col. 4:2. Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. (Rev. 12:7)
God Bless You!
