February 2026 | The Month of Walking in Authority and Power

Text: Acts 1:8.
“8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” NKJV
Power is an indispensable commodity to make any meaningful impact on Earth.
God is the true source of power and He has given us His power in the Person of the Holy Spirit. In our quest to fulfill the great commission, we will come against the powers of darkness and Christ has already equipped us with all it takes to neutralize them. As we abide in Christ, every opposition crumbles before us. 1 Samuel 2:9b says by strength shall no man prevail. Our human strength is no match to the powers of darkness; hence the Lord endues us with His power. Luke 21:15 – For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
It was not “title” Jesus gave the disciples but the pPower of the Holy Ghost. The Lord gave the 70 disciples power to heal the sick and cast out demons; without fail they all returned with the same testimony that all devils bowed to them as they proclaimed the gospel. If you don’t saturate your spirit-man with the power of God, you will become a victim of Satan’s torments.
Effects of The Power of The Holy Ghost
- Timidity will become Boldness
- Captivity becomes Captains
- Prayerlessness becomes Prayer Champion
- The Wanderers become Wonders
- The Powerless becomes Carriers of Power. Acts 19:12
- The Fearful became Fearless
- The Persecution made the church to be spiritually violent. Violence is the language of the Kingdom. Matt. 11:12
Why Spiritual Violence is Necessary
- Jesus Christ Himself operated in forceful Authority. Mark 5:8-13
- Every opposition submits to you – Psalm 18:44
- The devil himself is not a gentleman – Rev. 12:10, John 10:10a
- Demons are stubborn by nature – Acts 19
- The Church is not a Civilian Church but a Military Barracks where Soldiers of Christ are raised.
How to Operate in This Power
- Be Born-Again – John 3
- Be Watchful and Prayerful – Matt. 26:41
- Be an ardent God Praiser – Acts 16:25
- Pray in Tongues frequently. Jude 1:20
- Live a Life of Fasting. Matt. 17:21
- Engage in Corporate Prayer – Acts 4:31
- Be fervent in Spirit, serving the Lord – Romans 12:11
In closing, “Finally, my brethren, be Strong in the Lord, and in the power of His Might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:10-12.
