Text: Exodus 33:17-23.
“17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a Clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.“ KJV
Our above text was dialogue between Moses and God, Almighty. This event was a profound landmark in human history that a mortal man could see God. This is the closest encounter between God and humanity in the Old Testament. One the greatest asset in life is for a man to find grace in God’s sight. Moses was concerned about how he would fend for 2 million people in the wilderness, but God assured him of His presence. Moses asked for God to show him His glory. No matter your level of walk with God, there is still a deeper dimension you are yet to experience. This is why our pursuit of God is endless because God is an infinite being having no end.
When you ask God to show you His glory, you are invariably asking for His entire being – His mercy, goodness, power, faithfulness, etc. The day Moses saw God, an honor came upon him that affirmed his leadership.

In closing, God is calling us to come up hither in our walk with Him. It is our level of relationship with God that determines how far we go in life. Jesus Christ is the rock where God manifests Himself. After Moses encountered God, he had to cover his face because of the level of God’s glory shining through His face.
God bless you!
