Text: Isaiah 38:1-8,18-19.
“1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, 3 And said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 Then came the word of the Lord to Isaiah, saying, 5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. 6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city. 7 And this shall be a sign unto thee from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that he hath spoken; 8 Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down.
18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. 19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.” KJV.
Our above text is a testimony of how a massive help is activated by a massive praise. There is no situation thanksgiving cannot turn around. King Hezekiah upon hearing his death sentence from Prophet Isaiah turned to the wall and offered a massive praise to God – his death verdict was reversed immediately, and 15 years added to his life. God rarely changes His mind, but massive praise is a “switch” that can provoke a change from Him. You are either grateful to God or murmuring against Him (Numbers 11).
Praise turns darkness to light, emptiness to abundance, it also causes the Spirit of God to move in your favor. Gen. 1:3. As God was taking the Israelites into the promise land, they met many obstacles along the way. One of such was the wall of Jericho – it took a massive praise to bring down the massive walls of Jericho. Joshua 6:20.
Regardless of what comes your way this year, do not fret, just thank Him in everything and offer massive praise to Him and that same situation will turn to a testimony. Also, when King Jehoshaphat and his people were confronted by three mighty nations, massive praise was once again the technology Israel used to destroy the enemies. In Acts 16:25 Paul and Silas also engaged the weapon of praise to deliver themselves and all that were bound in the prison.
Things Praises Will do for You
- Praise will unlock the power of God in your favor against the enemy – Rev. 12:11
- Thanksgiving unlocks the gates of hell and death. Lazarus in John 11:34-35
- Thanksgiving will lock the mouth of the lions. Daniel 6
- Worship can rewrite a King’s negative degree or verdict. Daniel 6
- Worship will unlock every prison gate holding you down. Acts 16:25
- Massive praise will bring restoration – barrenness, sickness, and afflictions will all disappear.
In closing, worship is a weapon on its own. Worship will cause the arrester to be arrested. Psalm 149:6-9, God uses our praise to execute judgments against our enemies. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.
God Bless You!
