Text: 1 Chron. 28:8-10.
” 8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. 9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searches all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. 10 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.“
Our above Text was David’s admonition to his son (Solomon) to seek and serve God with a willing and perfect heart for God searches the thoughts and knows every one of them. We are God’s Temple, He redeemed us to build us as His Dwelling Place. Serving The Lord is our access to possessing our inheritance in The Kingdom. God wants our focus to be on Him and nothing else. We should seek Him with all our hearts and not forsake Him. Deut. 6:10 – “So it shall be, when The Lord your God brings you into the land of which He [c]swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant—when you have eaten and are full— then beware, lest you forget The Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.”
We were chosen by God for a specific purpose; to take us to houses we did not build, inheritances we did not labor for; but we have to be willing and obedient to partake of these blessings. The Lord is going ahead of us into The New Year and He counsels us to be willing and obedient and never forget Him. Upon entering into the land flowing with milk and honey, the Israelites forsook God and started worshipping other gods – May this not be our portion as we enter into Year 2022 in Jesus Name.
When we are willing and obedient, God lifts any siege upon our lives – He does this so His people can serve Him. Deut. 8:6-8 – Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey.” God is bringing us into a land of abundance and fruitfulness as we journey into Year 2022.
2 Kings 7 – we see how God supernaturally lifted the siege over a whole city through 4 lepers. Whatever limitation or siege you have prayed and believed God should lift, be assured that God has answered and lifted them.
What Does It Take to be Willing & Obedient? Matt. 6:31-33 – Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. To make wealth is not necessarily by how hard a man works but it is God that gives you power to make Wealth that He may establish His Covenant.
In closing, Isaiah 46:10 – “Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My Pleasure.’
God Bless You!
