Text: 1 Peter 2:9.
” 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;” KJV.
Harvest is a reward for times of sowing, laboring, and hard work. From our above Text, We can say that every Harvest is time sensitive. Harvest time in farming rarely lasts forever, it’s usually for a set period. The Lord reiterated this again about the time-sensitive of harvest in John 4:35-36 – “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.”
Welcome to a New Beginning. There is no better way to begin anything than coming to His Presence to give thanks. From Luke 17:17, God expects everyone to come back and appreciate Him for His doings in our lives. The one leper that came back to give thanks was made whole as against the other 9 that saw no reason to come back to thank The Lord. Giving thanks is not optional, Psalm 150 commands everything that has breath to Praise The LORD!
From our above Text, God chose us so as to display His Marvelous light through our lives. We are not ordinary people on Earth, we are from a Royal Family (Royal Priesthood), hence We’re indebted to Praise Him continually for the Grace He bestowed on us in Christ Jesus. The Psalmist said in Ps. 103:4 – Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies. The Psalmist also said in Ps. 124 – If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say— “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive. When their wrath was kindled against us; 4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, The stream would have gone over our soul; 5 Then the swollen waters Would have gone over our soul.”
Ps. 103 – Bless The Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His Holy Name! 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
How Can You Return Praise to God

- Testify of His Marvelous Work & Goodness – Ps. 89:1
In closing, Psalm 105:1 – Oh, give thanks to The Lord! Call upon His Name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!
