Text: Gal. 2:20.
” 20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” KJV
The Bible is about a King and His Kingdom. God’s ultimate goal is not salvation per se but kingdom living. Christianity is not a religion but a way of life of a kingdom. Every view of our Lord Jesus Christ is precious. There is no King like Christ. He sits upon multiple Thrones and on His head are many crowns. Rev. 19:12. He rules over His enemies; He rules in His believers; and He rules for His Father
Christ is a Threefold King
- He is His Enemies’ King
- He is His Saints’ King
- He is His Father’s King
Christ rules over His enemies by Power & Might. He rules over His believers with Love & Grace. He rules over the wicked from His Throne of Judgment. He rules over His Believers from His Throne of Grace. For The Lord is the great God and the great King above all gods. Ps. 95:3. Unlike other kings, Christ makes His subjects kings and rules from within (their hearts). He rules from within in other conform them to His glorious image. Every experience we pass through are opportunities He uses to align us to His nature. Every circumstance is but a tool for His Sovereign work in our heart. As an Indwelling King, He orchestrates everything in our lives to the counsel of God’s will. We do not own our lives; we were bought with a price. He chose us that He might live in us to accomplish a unique task on earth.
The Lord often puts us in situations so as to exercise His authority over our lives. His goal is to dethrone anything we have confidence on outside Him. 2 Cor. 12:9 – But He said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for My Power is made perfect in weakness.” Our first calling is to be His expression everywhere. He dwells in us so we can express Him. We cannot “express” Him, except We “feed” on Him continually. We are not called to carve out a pathway for our life, but to align to His vision for our lives. There is a unique story God wants to tell through our vessels. You were born to express Christ; may you not fail in this calling.
As the Indwelling King, our body is for Him and He is for our body. He is one Spirit with us. Only animals live for themselves without any sense of a greater course beyond themselves. Man is a seed of eternity created to manifest not himself but God and God alone.
In closing, He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:15
