February 2026 | The Month of Walking in Authority and Power
Ministering: Pastor Bisi Ajala.
Text: Genesis 1:26-27.
“26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” NKJV
What does it mean to be Christlike? It is to actively embody the character, actions, and attitudes of Jesus Christ, prioritizing love, humility, service and forgiveness in our daily lives. Being Christlike also means to being an extension of the Lord Jesus Christ in all you do and say.
From our above text, because we were made in the image of God, our lifestyle should reflect God’s personality and moral likeness everywhere. John 4:24 says God is Spirit (He is not physical nor a man-made god). It is no coincidence that the Triune God made us spirit, soul and body. To be a Christian is a calling to manifest Christ on this earth. The fall of man in Genesis made us prodigal children but the incarnation and resurrection of Christ was our coming back home to God’s presence. 1 John 2:6 says, He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked. Jesus never had unforgiveness in His heart neither was any contraband of the devil found in Him. Christ is our syllabus and template as He is the very image of God (Col. 1:15) that the Holy Spirit is conforming us into in the New Testament.
What is Selective Christianity? It is the practice of Christians to choose to continue practicing some Adamic personality traits that do not qualify and validate the ideal nature of a true Christian.
John 15:5 says I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. This means by design Jesus is to be our source, to abide in Him guarantees fruitfulness in every endeavor but to be severed from Him is to wither away. The charge this morning is for everyone of us to go back to our root in Christ Jesus, wherever we have strayed, God is calling us back to our source. On no account should we be doing anything without Christ being the originator. Scriptures gave us His disposition while on earth – He was One who came to do nothing but the will of the Father – Phil. 2:5-8. Among His personality traits
Christ became a man to show us what we also are capable of if we abide in Him.
A few of His personality trait noted while He lived on earth were – Joyfulness, Compassionate, Forgiving, Patient, Truthful, Prayerful, Gracious, Zealous, Meek, Empathetic, Inclusive, Wise, Merciful, Self-Controlled, Gentle, Obedient, Courageous, Relational, etc.
There is a King in you as a believer; realize that you are not an accident, you were wonderfully and carefully made by God. God didn’t just create you, He carved Himself into you.
You are a Walking Prophecy, a Holy Tabernacle of God, a Living Evidence of the Immortal God who made you. You are dust and divinity in One.
At the height of all Jesus did as man was that He laid down His life for humanity. Here is love stronger than death, love without beginning nor ending, and love as vast as infinity!
In conclusion, I challenge your character. If indeed you profess to be a Christian, ask yourself where do I need a change to becoming a True Christian, not a Selective Christian!
God Bless You, Richly!
