Text: James 4:13-16.
” 13 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. 15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.”
God has sent many Prophetic Words to us regarding 2022, such as “… more than 80% of projects will succeed …..”. Planning is a vital aspect of man’s life. God is a Planner and counsels us to plan as well.
Man is careful to make plans, but many leave God out of their plans. Our above Text is a picture of a man who has left God outside his plans. This Year, I counsel you to plan but be careful to table every part of it before The Lord.
Do not leave God out of your plans this Year (the result is always disastrous). The future is not our hands as humans but in God’s Hands. Prov. 16:3, Ps. 37:5.
As John 15:5 tells us – without Him we can do nothing. Realize that as a child of God, every season of your life is in The Hands of God. Regardless of how confident you are about your plans, God’s Plans are always far better than ours, hence our dire need to always seek Him. All our plans this Year should start with “If it is in The Lord’s Will ….”.
In Luke 12:16-20, we see the tragic end of a man who left God out of his plans. God does not encourage slothfulness, but rewards those who work hard and involve Him in their plans. All through The Bible we see the ordeals of people who turned a blind eye to God’s plans – an example is Jonah in Jonah 1:1-3.
God has the capacity to bring any project to completion, He needed no man’s help when He created the Heavens and the Earth. Please pray for God to be the Architect of every of your plans this Year. God only pays for the projects He commands. If you leave Him out, you will have to pay for your plans.
Isaiah 14:13 shows us how Lucifer fell from Heaven because God was not in his plans. Every plan we commit to The Lord this Year, He is more than ready to get involved in it.
Consequences of Planning without God
- Confusion & Frustration will be the order of the Day. Tower of Babel in Gen. 11.
- It will come with heavy costs (financially, emotionally, etc.) and losses.
- It comes with lots of regrets. Samson in Judges 16:1-31.
- It comes with a lot of pains and disasters – Jonah 2:1-2.
- It prevents us from enjoying God’s provision and protection. John 15:5.
- It attracts discipline – Jonah 1:15.
In closing, God has the best plan for you as He said in Jer. 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says The Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Also in Isaiah 40:31 – But those who wait on The Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Prov. 3:5-6 also tells us – Trust in The Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
God Bless You!
