Text: Gen. 1:26-28.
” 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.“
The above text is God’s Concept for Man’s Creation. Everything that will make Man great, God already spoke into him at Creation – Fruitfulness, Multiplication, Replenishing, Subduing, and Dominion. He spoke these to Man in the Beginning. Dominion is reigning in life or being an authority in an area of life, this leads to greatness. Fruitfulness is to reproduce after the order of God. Replenishment means to fill the emptiness of the Earth. To Subdue means to be in control of lack, and poverty – they should be under our feet. Romans 8 says we are joint-heirs with Christ and creation is waiting for our manifestation. As Children of God, we are the ones to deliver creation from bondage.
David brought royalty into Jesse’s family (1 Sam. 16:1). There is a Wisdom that comes upon a person that makes them great in life.
There are stages in life that everyone passes through. A stage of “not enough” – this is a stage a person borrows in shame, etc. Another stage is “just enough” – this is a stage where a person is barely surviving in life; though you are not borrowing and you don’t have enough to give to others. Another stage is the “level of the rich” – sometimes people at this stage have money but lack the healthy to enjoy it. 1 Tim. 6:17. There is the stage “of being Wealthy” – this is where you have more than enough to be a blessing to others; and at this stage, you have riches, health, and a great Name. 2 Sam. 7:9. We were redeemed to operate at the level of Flourishing Wealth.
Secrets to Attaining & Retaining Greatness
- You must fear God – Ps. 25:14
- Total obedience to God – Isa. 1:19
- Rebelling against The Word of God
- Financial Faithfulness – Prov. 28:20
- Not willing to Sacrifice. Sacrifice is defined by value not by volume. 1 Chron. 23:25
- Having the right attitude in everything
- Divine Connection – Ps. 83:18
In closing, Psalm 71:20-21 – Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, and shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Thou shalt increase my greatness and comfort me on every side. God has no classmates nor name mates – He is God all by Himself. There is nothing He cannot do. He is a respecter of nobody, He does as He pleases with whom He pleases and when He pleases.
