February 2026 | The Month of Walking in Authority and Power
Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo.
Text: 2 Chronicles 20:20-25.
“20 So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying:
“Praise the Lord,
For His mercy endures forever.”
22 Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. 23 For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. 24 So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. 25 When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.“NKJV
God is the Mighty force behind our lives; thus, He is worthy of our worship. Our above text is an account of how God can use praise to turn a great confusion into a great miracle. As our monthly custom, We are here to thank the Most High for His faithfulness thus far in 2026.
Our praise must be intentional because God is very intentional about our preservation. He never allowed the sun to smite us by day nor the moon by night. Col. 1:16-17 tells us “By Him were all things created, visible and invisible ……” and in Him all things consist (have their proper place). Man was created to live in total dominion. Eden means the presence of God. We were built and made to dwell in God’s Presence forever. Genesis 1:26-28. Everything was created to be subservient to us as we carry God’s presence. Prior the fall, man operated in total dominion, but sin and rebellion robbed us of the dominion mandate. Genesis 3 tells us the ground was cursed for man. But the good news is, Christ came restore our dominion mandate.
Praise is a key to restoring God’s presence (Eden), which ultimately enables us to walk in total dominion. Murmuring keeps God’s presence away, which opens the door for demons (snakes in Numbers 21). The vision might tarry but Habakkuk tells us to wait for it, for God never comes late, He is always on time. Psalm 100:4 tells us to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and bless His Holy Name ….. for the Lord is good and His mercies endures forever.”
Praise as a Weapon for Dominion this Year
- Praise creates a conducive environment for God to operate in. It’s like creating a pool for God to swim in
- Remember all the past victories – 1 Samuel 17:37
- Praise precedes every victory – 2 Chron. 20:22
- Praise confuses the enemy – 2 Chron. 20:23
Key Attitudes that Sustain Dominion
- Don’t doubt God – He has all power to take care of you. James 1:6-7
- Acknowledge God’s grace – 1 Cor. 15:10
- Depend on His presence – Exod. 33:15
In closing, Luke 10:19, Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Acts 16:25 shows us how praise can set prisoners free. David lived long with great prosperity because he was a praise addict – 1 Chron. 29:26-28
God Bless You, Richly!
