Flying On The Wings Of Praise.

Flying On The Wings Of Praise.

Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Luke 19:32-40.

32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them. 33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt? 34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him. 35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. 36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.

37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.

Our above Text was towards the twilight of the Earthly Ministry of Christ. Prior this period, He would usually not want any public announcement of His Miracles but at this time He asked the disciples to go bring an unused Donkey for Him to ride majestically and triumphantly into the City. Every time in the presence of God is an opportunity to give thanks to Him publicly.

Psalm 105:1-2 enjoins us ….. “Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His Name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works!” As our monthly custom, we are back to give thanks and praise to Him.

It angers God each time we refuse to show gratitude to Him. Ps. 28:5 says – Because they do not regard the works of the Lord, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them and not build them up. God wants to be appreciated and praised, Malachi 2: 1-2 says – “And now, O priests, this commandment is for you. If you will not hear, And if you will not take it to heart, To give glory to My name,” Says The Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, And I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, Because you do not take it to heart.

As you praise Him, He will cause you to fly into your destiny. David is a classic example of how Praise can make an ordinary person become a generational star. David testified God had been his strength and power ….and set his feet on high places – 2 Sam. 22:33-50.

We are in a battle continually in life hence, need God to teach our hands to war. God defends and shields us from the arrows of the enemy.  Praise makes God enlarge your steps so it would not slip.

Jehoshaphat is another classic example of how Praise can make a whole nation fly into victory and abundance. 2 Chron. 20. God desires to be praised, never allow any situation to withhold your praise to God.

In closing, Isa. 40:29-31 says … “He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on The Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

God Bless You!
