From Groaning to Glory.

From Groaning to Glory.

Ministering: Pastor Olusegun Joseph.

Text: Luke 7:11-14.

11 And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and many people. 12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and many people of the city was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not. 14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise. KJV

As a curse is the opposite of a blessing, so is groaning the opposite of glory. Our above text shows how our Savior turned the groaning of a Widow into glory by raising her dead son. Gen 8:22, tells of the various times and seasons in the universe. The winter, cold or fall seasons are usually reckoned as seasons of dryness, unfruitfulness, depression, etc. The widow of Nain through her son’s untimely death was going through a winter season; but thank be to God for Jesus (the season changer) who changed her season from cold to heat, winter to summer, a bad situation to a glorious situation. Summer season is usually referred to a season of joy, merriness, vacations etc.

There is also the Season of night and day. The night season is a time of darkness and being unnoticed. Luke 5:1-7, showed Peter’s night season when he toiled all night and caught nothing. When the Jesus, the season-changer showed up and came into his boat, his night season changed suddenly into a day season – they caught an overwhelming quantities of fish. The Lord usually changes our season so we can turn to Him and become fishers of men. God is the God of all Seasons, there is no season He cannot change. He changes times and seasons. He can change a season of sickness into good health, failure into success, and darkness into light.

There is no season that is permanent, every season as a beginning and an ending. Whatever you are passing through, recognize it is not permanent, there is a joy ahead that will surely manifest. Ps. 65:11-13, tells us how God crowns our year with goodness and our paths with fatness. The Lord Jesus is always ready to take away our pains and groaning. Luke 8:22-35 shows how Jesus’ presence in the boat calmed a boisterous wind and storm.

No matter the season you are in, always ensure the Lord Jesus is always in your boat; He alone can turn a crisis into a celebration. God is able to do more than we can expect, hence our biggest imagination is just His starting point. Because you are the temple of God in Christ Jesus, any devil that touches you must pay trespass offering (like the Philistines did for putting the Ark of God besides Dagon) for attempting to defy the temple of God.

In closing, never take the Lord Jesus for granted for He is wisdom and understanding (Prov. 8:14-17). He has no personal assistant, as He is full of strength. He has no special adviser, because He is wisdom personified. 1 Sam. 5:1-12 showed how the Lord cannot be placed side by side with an idol (Dagon); He is God all by Himself. He needs no bodyguard, as He is His own security!

God bless you!
