Text: Rev. 4:1-11.
“1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats, I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him, and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9 And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth forever and ever, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure, they are and were created.”
“Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones, I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crowns of gold on their heads. And from the throne proceeded lightnings,
Our above text is a glorious Scene in Heaven of The Adoration of The One Who sits on The Throne. We are here to acknowledge and praise Him that is upon The Throne in Heaven. Revelation 4 is also describing what The Presence of God looks like in Heaven. Words were insufficient for John to describe what He was seeing, hence, he was using earthly similitudes (“was like ….”) to describe Heavenly Realities.
Praises and Worship usher us into The Throne of God. This is our Gateway to His Presence.
Everything in Heaven centers around The Throne. Also in the Text, there were Twenty Four Elders Who cease not to bow and worship Him that lives forever and forever. We worship a God that never expires, for He changeth not from Eternity to Eternity.
We are alive for the Pleasure of God. He preserves us so as to keep hearing our praises. Isaiah 43:7 says “Everyone who is called by My Name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” Understand that He made you for His Glory. 1 Thess. 5:18 – in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Even if you are experiencing some challenges as a result of this COVID19, rest in the fact that God is working it for your good. Malachi 3:2-3 “But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears?
For, He is like a refiner’s fire And like launderers’ soap. He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, And purge them as gold and silver, That they may offer to The Lord An offering in righteousness. Hannah despite being mocked by her adversary, rejoiced, and trusted in God and was able to sing a new song to The Lord. Also, the Israelite sang a new song after the deliverance from Egypt – Exodus 15.
In closing, Child of God, rejoice for you too will sing your own song of victory, just do not murmur despite the happenings. Heaven is not meant for complainers, in fact, murmuring robs one of The Presences of God.
