The Glory After Shiloh

The Glory After Shiloh

Text: 1 Samuel 1:1-10
There is a glory that comes after every Shiloh. The theme of our RCCGNA Convention this Year was “Christ in You, The Hope of Glory”. Our above text is an account of how God visited a certain barren woman Hannah (her name means Grace – which means giving you what you are not qualified for) after their annual convention (Shiloh). The Name “Shiloh” first came from Genesis 49:10 by Jacob in his Blessing to Judah. He said “The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.” Sceptre connotes kingship.

Hannah’s Pre-Shiloh Conditions – She was a woman of sorrow as she was being mocked for her reproach night and day. Also she was just another statistical number in her husband’s house as she was barren.

Shiloh – A Place of Encounter with God
1. Every visit to Shiloh always produces a turnaround for the expectant. Hannah was expectant and her expectation was not cut off. Despite the mockery of her detractors (Penniah) God visited Hannah.
2. Shiloh is a place God turns every mockery into an uncommon testimony. Though there might have been a delay, God always shows up with the best. God blessed Hannah with “Samuel” – who happened to be one of the greatest vessels in the land of Israel. “Samuel” could represent a new vision, Anointing, babies, better jobs, business breakthrough, marital breakthrough, etc.
3. God always brings Salvation in Shiloh. Salvation means rescue from every work of darkness.
4. Shiloh was where the Ark of God was kept (in The Holy Holies) – The Ark represents The Manifest Presence of God. Thus, at Shiloh, God is encountered. Today, The Holy of Holies is no longer in a physical temple but in human temples (the children of God), Christ in You, The Hope of Glory.
5. Hannah’s situation defied every human and medical solution but at Shiloh impossibilities become cheap possibilities with The God of Shiloh.
6. Hannah was not just a spectator at Shiloh, she went with a determination praying with her entire being, with a specific demand (a man child) from God supported with a vow to hand over the child back to God.

Post-Convention Activities to Obtain Your “Samuel”
1. Run with The Word given by God at The Convention. Col. 1:27.
2. Let The Sent Word Transform you.
3. Start worshipping Him like never before.
4. Go back to where you have failed before and try again. 1 Samuel 1:19
5. If you had vowed to God, honor that vow speedily just like Hannah did. 1 Samuel 2:11

Isaiah 51:11 tells us what happens after every Shiloh

Therefore the redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

After Shiloh, firstly, Hannah’s situation changed, promotion came. Secondly, she moved from the company of the barren to the fruitful ones. Thirdly, she crossed her own boundaries of limitations. Fourthly, her Prayer was granted by God (1 Samuel 1:19). Fifty, she prevailed in her prayers, as God gave her victories over all her adversaries.
