GOD OF INTERVENTION.

GOD OF INTERVENTION.

Ministering: Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: 1 Chronicles 4:9-10.

And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.KJV.

God is always intervening in the affairs of His people. God of Intervention refers to a God Who actively intervenes in the affairs of His children. He is not a God Who is indifferent about the perils of His children. He takes no pleasure in our stagnancy. God is against whatever is against you (a believer in Christ Jesus). He never ignores the ordeals of His people. In Exodus 2:24, He remembered His covenant with Abraham when Israel cried to Him. He is ever involved in all we are going through. Daniel 4:17 – The Most-High God rules in the affairs of men.

Our above text is a classical case study of how God can turn things around for anyone who calls upon Him. He is always rich towards all that call upon Him. Your introduction should not tarnish your conclusion. Jabez did not allow his “negative” introduction to affect the outcome of his life. God changed Jabez’s sorrow to honorable. Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase – Job 8:7. Though you were born disadvantaged (like Jabez), rejoice that your God specializes in turning any mess into miracles.

Every believer in Christ Jesus is a candidate of God’s daily mercies. God intervenes in our affairs by showing mercy. It is God’s mercy that prevails over any judgment impending our progress. Mercy located Hannah, Jabez, blind Bartimaeus, impotent man by pool of Bethesda, etc.

Prayer is a platform that gives God the legitimate ground to intervene in our affairs. Prayer is Earthly permission for Heavenly intervention. The more we pray, the more we experience God’s interventions. Psalm 25:2 – O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Jabez was a man of prayer; even when God came in the flesh (Jesus), He prayed night and day. Men always ought to pray and not to faint. Pray without ceasing.

The Prayers of Jabez

  • O Lord, Bless me indeed. He was asking God to set him free from any bondage or curse
  • O Lord, enlarge my Coast
  • O Lord, let your Hand be with me – divine presence
  • O Lord, keep me from evil. Let the enemies’ plans against me always fail

When will God Intervene in Your Affairs

  • When you cry unto God for help. Jer. 33:3
  • When you are tired of your current position.
  • When you acknowledge your weakness before Him – 2 Cor. 12:9
  • When you jettison your self-righteousness and forsake your sins. Isaiah 55:7

In closing, God never abandons His Own. He is a God Who intervenes by changing the outcome of whatever the devil had planned. Anytime God intervenes, the outcome is always different, He makes all things work together for our good.

 God Bless You!
