Text: Psalm 30:1-12.
” 1 I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 2 O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 3 O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 4 Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. 6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. 7 Lord, by thy favor thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. 8 I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication. 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? 10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper. 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.“
There are different types of Help in life but only one leads to a Turnaround and it comes only from God. Praise is always a catalyst for a turnaround from God. Thanksgiving always gives birth to multiplication, deliverance and Turnaround. Paula and Silas is an example in Acts 16:25-26. In addition, The Lord raising Lazarus from the grave (John 11) is also another example of Thanksgiving giving rise to a miracle.
Whatever has eluded you, if you engage the weapon of Thanksgiving and Praise, the tide will change in your favor. Regardless of your current position, there is always a higher ground God has for you. God told Joshua there was much land still to be possessed. God’s way is a way of continuous progression, so much Heaven still has for you to attain in life.
Before Israel often enters any inheritance, they would always ask, who would go before us? The Lord often tells them “Judah” (Praise) should go before His People into their inheritance. God is a God of Order, Psalm 100:4 tells us Heaven’s Protocol for entering into His Presence – Praises and Thanksgiving.
Psalm 67:5-7 enjoins us to Praise Him and God will Bless us. Psalm 149:6-9 says Let The High Praises of God be in our mouth, to execute the judgment written. If we must experience a Turnaround, then Praises must be our Lifestyle. Judah means Praise. Ps. 22:3 says God inhabits the Praises of His People. Whatever bows to God, bows to Praises. Ps. 114:1-6 narrates how obstacles (Red Sea, Jordan, Mountains, etc.) disappeared before Israel as Judah led them into The Promise Land.
In Genesis 49:8 we see the Blessing that follows Judah (Praise) – “Judah, you are the one whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s sons shall bow down to you.”
Praise always yields great things to anyone that engages it. In 1 Chronicles 4:1 tells us the name of the 5 sons of Judah – The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal. Pharez means Breakthrough; Hezron means surrounded by walls, Protection; Carmi means Growth; Hur means Purity, to be set apart for God’s Glory; and Shobal means Multiple Blessings.
In closing, Praise makes you a man of exploits. If you Praise Him, The Lord will take you to the highest place upon the earth – David is an example of what God does for anyone who makes Praise their lifestyle.
God Bless You!
