I Chose To Praise Him.

I Chose To Praise Him.

Ministering: Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Habakkuk 3:12-19.

12 Thou didst march through the land in indignation, thou didst thresh the heathen in anger. 13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou wounded the head out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah. 14 Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly. 15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters. 16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops. 17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me walk upon my high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

As a continuation of last week’s Sermon – What do we do when we do not know what to do? All over the world, there is great uncertainty but for you resolve to do as the Psalmist said, O Magnify The Lord with Me, let us praise His Name Forever.

COVID19 is a sort of indignation that has come to the world. We are going to Praise and exalt The Lord regardless of what COVID19 is doing around the world. Our above Text is a gloomy picture but the people of God resolved to rejoice in The Lord.

Moses and The Israelite praised The Lord for saving them from Egypt – Exod. 15:1 – “I will sing to The Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!”

Lessons from Habakkuk 3:12-19

1.     No matter what is going on God will still be God. He still rules in the affairs of men.

2.     Regardless of what is happening when you make up your mind to continue to Praise Him your life will keep taking shape from one glory to another. 1 Peter 2:9, Hab. 3:18

3.     As you praise Him, He will become Your Strength and make you walk upon your high places.

Though Lazarus was dead, He proved He is The Resurrection and The Life. This means He is never late to reverse any situation. John 11.

Psalm 121 says – “He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.”

Ps. 67:5-7 also encourages us to Praise Him continually.

In closing, our above Text is teaching us Worship and Praises is The Correct Response to what we going through because of this Pandemic.

God Bless You!
