Text: Matthew 28:1-10.
” 1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. 2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: 4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. 8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. 9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. 10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.“
Every morning is not the same, there is a Morning far greater than every morning – It is Resurrection Morning. Anything can happen on Resurrection Morning. Situations change positively on Resurrection Morning – the dead are quickened; dead virtues come alive on Resurrection Morning.
The Resurrection of Christ is a story of Change & Transformation. He came to deliver us from darkness and then transform us into His Glorious Image. The enemy thought they had gotten the victory through His Crucifixion, little did they know that He is The Resurrection and The Life – He conquered death through Death. He is no longer in the grave – He is risen. He defeated hell through death. Everyone who believes in Him is now exempted from judgment. Every work of darkness is now not permitted in the lives of those who have appropriated His Substitutionary Sacrifice. Many have forgotten the provision He has made available through His Resurrection.
What happened on Resurrection Morning? Col. 2:14-15 “…. having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”
He defeated death on Resurrection Morning. Death no longer has power over your life. 1 Cor. 15:54-55 . “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” Eph. 4:8 – Therefore He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men.”
Our lives today would have been a total wreck without His Resurrection. 1 Cor. 1:24 – “But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the Wisdom of God.”
Things that are Recoverable on Resurrection Morning:
- You will recover all the wasted years. Joel 2:21-26.
- There shall be restoration of every lost Joy. John 16:22.
- He can restore your lost Glory. Col. 1:27.
- Your lost Hope will be restored. 1 Pet. 1:3.
In closing, by His Resurrection, He became The Total Restorer of Everything. John 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
He is Risen to give us life; He is Risen to destroy every work of darkness. He came so we could have life and hope in Him.
