It’s Time for God’s Visitation.

It’s Time for God’s Visitation.

Ministering: Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Judges 6:11-16.

11 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” 13 Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” 14 Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” 15 So he said to Him, “O [b]my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” 16 And the Lord said to him, “Surely I will be with you, and you shall [c]defeat the Midianites as one man.

The Theme for this month is Our Month of Vindication and Help. To be vindicated means to be cleared of all offenses and accusations. Help means something has been made easy for you by someone that has come to offer special assistance for you.

Every visitation of God has a purpose. His Visitation never leaves any man the same. God’s Visitation enriches a person’s life with the Water of Life. Ps. 65:9 – You visit the earth and water it, You greatly enrich it; The river of God is full of water; You provide their grain. When God visits you, He has come to help. When He visited Peter’s house, He healed his mother-in-law of a fever.

He visits to give a new beginning and also wipe out every work of darkness.

His visitation to the Samaritan Woman at the well ushered her into a new life. Christ never comes to condemn but to exonerate and vindicate His Own. In Zech. 3:1-5, Joshua the High Priest was accused by the devil, but The Lord came to vindicate him. As the Chosen of The Lord, He ever lives to vindicate us from every accusation of the enemy. He chose us and brought us out of darkness into His marvelous light. We did not save ourselves, He defeated the devil and obtained the victory for us.

From our above Text, Israel had sinned and this opened the door for the enemy to attack and oppress them. It was in their ordeal they cried to The Lord and He visited Gideon to start the process of their deliverance. He told Gideon – “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.” In Acts 16:25 – God came to vindicate Paul and Silas – their chains were broken, even their fellow prisoners were set free by The Hand of God.

Paul and Silas prayed and sang praise to God, and they were vindicated. May The Lord vindicate you from every work of darkness. God is in the Business of vindicating His People; He visited Moses (through the burning bush experience) in a bid to vindicate and deliver His people from the hand of their taskmasters.

In Exodus 12:12, God said, “For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am The Lord.”

God Bless You!
