It’s Time To Soar & Fly!

It’s Time To Soar & Fly!

Ministering: Senior Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: Isaiah 40:28-31.

28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Life is about finishing well in every endeavor. Great marathoners are good finishers (not just starters). Soaring and Flying are about finishing well.

Our above Text relates to Israel losing hope of restoration from their exile. Prophet Isaiah came with a Word of Hope from The Lord to say to His People. Are you drifting towards hopelessness in any situation? God is saying – they that wait upon The Lord shall renew their strength and mount up with wings as Eagles. God always comes with a Word of Hope to every weary looking unto Him.  Isaiah 40:1-2 – Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.

When you cultivate the habit of waiting on The Lord, nothing can stop you from moving forward. God never disappoints those who genuinely wait on in Him. He is a rewarder of those who seek Him diligently. Often times it is our sin that gets us stuck (Rom. 6:1), hence, God says even if the issue is sin, He has accepted our repentance and forgiven us so we could fly again.

To fly means to maintain a very high speed. Cars and Plane do not have the same travelling speed.

What to do to be able to Fly?

  • Remove all deadly weights you may be carrying. Heb. 12:1. Eagles don’t fly with weights.
  • Focus on the Goal. Heb. 12:2. Eagles are always focused on their target.
  • Feed on The Word continually. Jos. 1:8. Eagles feed on flesh kills, not dead carcass.
  • Get more committed to the things of God.
  • Confront any obstacle or challenges. Rom. 9:25-26. Eagles don’t run from storms, rather they use the storm to soar.
  • Rely on The Strength of God. John 15:5.
  • Wait for Him; don’t run ahead of Him. Job waited on The Lord for His Salvation. Job 14:14.

In closing, as we approach end this Year, let’s us continue to go with Jesus, like the sons of the Prophet in 2 Kings 6:1-3. “And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.”

Ps. 40:1-2 says I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

God Bless You!
