A big way miracles demonstrated God’s power is in the New Testament when Jesus and His disciples performed lots of miracles. Many of these miracles were performed in the Church – just like He is going to do in our midst today in the name of Jesus! Let’s look at a few examples of miracles that happened in the church together
A. In Matthew 21:14 – The blind and crippled came to Him in the temple and He healed them. In same vein, anyone who is crippled in their academics, career, family or relationship receive your healing in Jesus’ name!
B. Luke 13:10-13 – Jesus healed a woman who was sick for 18 years. When Jesus saw her, He called her forward and said to her, “woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13 Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. I pray for you because you are in the church today and more importantly Jesus is in the room with us – anyone who has been tormented by any evil spirit no matter how long this has been going on…you are free from your infirmity in Jesus’ name.
C. John 8:1-11 – While teaching, a woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus by the Pharisees. Instead of condemning her, He delivered her from death and gave her a brand-new start. He said to her accusers, let him that has no sin cast the first stone and they all dropped their stones one by one. Now check this out. Even though Jesus had the right to condemn her because Jesus was the only sinless person there, He chose to forgive and deliver her. I pray for you, anyone using your past mistakes to accuse you before Jesus, is silenced now in the name of Jesus. The Lord gives you a fresh start, go and sin no more.
D. Matthew 12:9-13 – Jesus healed the man with a withered hand in the synagogue. 13 Then He said to the man, “stretch out your hand.” So, he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other. It is LAWFUL to do good on the Sabbath. TODAY is the Sabbath. TODAY is a great day for miracles, signs and wonders – I pray for you, anyone using your current problem to preach a negative sermon, The Lord will turn things around for you right before their eyes in the name of Jesus. The Lord prepares a table for you in the presence of your enemies in the name of Jesus.
E. Acts 3:6-8 – Peter healed a man who was born lame at the beautiful gate of the Temple. They didn’t have money, but they had something. They had the name of Jesus. The man got his healing at the gate of the temple. The sermon had not been preached, the praise and worship were yet to be sang, yet all he had was the name of Jesus. It is the same name you and I have today – Phil 2:9-10 therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth – I pray for you that any negative situation in your life that you may have been born into, married into or that you carried for many years, today, this moment, right now, bows to the name of Jesus.
In conclusion, you and I are miracles, we are proof of God’s power because we were made in God’s image – Gen 1:27. So God created mankind in His Own image, in the Image of God He created them; male and female He created them. We were also given power to do great works – Acts 1:8 – and you shall receive power when The Holy Spirit comes up on you – just like Jesus did; yes, even greater works (John 14:12). Never forget that, wherever Jesus went He was doing good (Acts 10:38), He is still the Same today, doing good everywhere He is called upon.
