Text: Phil. 3:13-14.
” 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.“ KJV
A “Move” is a Shifting. Movement can be defined as going from one point to another. Movement is also a motion to conquer stagnation by taking steps to achieve something. All through the Bible, God was moving His people forward. He called Abraham (the Father of Faith) and asked him to “move” from his father’s house to a land He would show him. He told Moses that Israel should move forward (from land of bondage to the promise land). Scriptures enjoin us to move from the works of the flesh to the fruit of the Spirit. God desires we move from murmuring to rejoicing.
Many times, God often allows problems or trials to come our way, so we don’t get complacent with our current level. Movement is critically important if we must attain destiny. Naturally people like their comfort zone until a famine or negative situation compel them to seeking God for a solution. Movement can come in form of spiritual progress. Movements are not the same – it could be right or wrong. Sarah made a wrong move by advising Abraham to go into her maid to have a child. Matt. 26:47-49 showed how Judas made a wrong move in betraying the Master. He kissed Jesus in order to kill Him.
Esther made the right move in Esther 2:5-17. God used her as the means to save the Jews. Esther was not discouraged as an orphan but through her uncle (Mordecai) became great in life. Many have allowed their problems to discourage them from moving to be great in life. God counselled Joshua to be strong and be of good courage. Joshua moved and Israel followed him into Canaan land. Complaining blinds our eyes to the solution God has already provided. As a child of God, God has already mapped your life to be glorious, even if you are an orphan. He has ordained people to help you in every phase of life. God raised Mordecai to help Esther fulfill destiny. God promised to go before you and make the crooked place straight (Isaiah 45:2), hence, we have no excuse not to move forward.
Make a move at the right time in order not to miss God’s timing. Esther 4:14. To remain stagnant is a wrong move. You are a christian as a soldier of Christ enlisted to disciple others to Christ. Never forget the Lord who made you a King and Priest to reign in life (Rev. 1:6). The Woman with the issue of blood moved to seek solution and her movement towards the Lord brought perfect wholeness to her. Many have died in silence by refusing to move towards the Lord.
The Samaritan woman moved towards the well and met the Lord; through her movement, revival came to the whole city of Samaria. John 4. God has ordained us to be great in life but without movements, this may not be realized. It is in moving we find solution to our problems.
In conclusion, The Lord said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matt. 11:27. Pray that the Lord will direct you in the right place where your honor is waiting for You.
God bless you!
