My Appointed Time

My Appointed Time

Ministering: Deacon Tunji Akinrinde

Texts: Habakkuk 2:2-3 – And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

God is saying to someone that now is the appointed time (not tomorrow or yesterday) for the realization of His Vision for your life. From our above text, we can see that God has a vision for everyone at an appointed time.

Many in our generation are so caught up in our generation duplicating other people’s vision

as against God’s vision for their lives. Whose vision are you running with? Your’s, other’s or God’s? Realize that your God ordained vision is specific, tailor-made and unique to you. Realize that God’s Plan for our life has an appointed time. Ecc. 3:1 says there is a time and season for everything. Walking in God’s vision makes you a solution to your generation and generations yet unborn. Anything short of this is vanity upon vanity, like chasing the wind.

A Life Without Vision – Prov. 29:18 says where there is no vision, the people perish. Having no vision in life makes a person miserable. When you don’t live God’s vision, you will lack drive in life, your life will look out of order, you will be doing trial and error ultimately running aimlessly in life.

Biblical Case Studies
1. Joseph – Gen. 41:8-14, 44. Joseph had a vision from God that he will be a head or shining star in his generation, but for many years the happenings around his life was showing otherwise but he kept his faith in God. Despite being an immigrant God lifted him above even the indigenes of the land.
2. Mordecai – Esther 6. Mordecai was Esther’s uncle but was maltreated by the enemies like a slave in exile but at his appointed time the king could not sleep until he was exalted.
3. Peter – John 21:3-6. Peter abandoned God’s vision and went back from being a fisher of men to a fisher of fish. He failed miserable but by God’s Mercy He was restored to God’s ordained vision for his life. Also in Acts 12, he was a man following God’s Vision but the enemies ganged up and locked him in prison but when his appointed time came the prison gates supernaturally opened on their accord.
4. David – 1 Samuel 16:11-13. David despite God’s Vision to be king, was relegated to look after sheep in the wilderness. When his appointed time came, he was fished out of the wilderness by Samuel and anointed king by God’s ordination. It appears he was forgotten but a day came he was remembered for good.
