Text: Gen. 8:20-22.
“20 And Noah built an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savor; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remained, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” KJV.
From our above Text, our Harvest depends on God and the type of Seed we have sown. Maize and cocoa are not harvested at the same time. Eccl. 8 tells us to everything there is a season and a purpose for everything God has created. There is a purpose for God creating you and bringing you to the US. God has a purpose for making you a Man or a Woman. Every day has its God-ordained purpose, just as every year has its unique God-ordained purpose. There cannot be harvest without seedtime. 1 Chron. 12:32 talks about the sons of Issachar who had an understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. Every time does not carry the same weight or have the same purpose; a person can do the right thing at the wrong time. Time is a friend to no one, it respects neither male nor female, rich or poor, it just keeps moving forward whether you like it or not.
A Seed is a precious thing you possess (could be talent, time, resources, etc.) that carries the ability to multiply and add value to others. Ps. 126:6 – He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. A Seed is not to be consumed but to be planted. God gives seed to the Sower and bread to the eater. Isaiah 55. Many have eaten the seed that is supposed to produce generations.
Everything in life started as a seed. 2 Cor. 9:10. Adam and Eve were God’s Seed for producing humanity. The Lord accentuated the power of a seed in Mark 4:30-32 – how the Kingdom of God is like a mustard seed a Man plants into his life so as to produce a great harvest. Every Seed must be Planted. The purpose of a seed is for planting and not to be consumed. John 12:24. Everyone has been given a Seed by God, your talent or unique ability is a God-given seed for you to add value to humanity. Zech. 8:12. Everything we do or don’t do is also a seed that will produce harvests (positive or negative).
When you have a need, try and plant a seed. Every need around you is an opportunity to plant a seed. It could be a seed of encouragement, help, material, prayers, etc. towards a person in need. Hannah sowed Samuel to The LORD and God blessed her with 5 more children.1 Sam. 2:20. The Lord commended the servant that made wise use of his talents in Matt. 25:21. What have you done with the seeds God has given you? How many people can attest that they see God in your life, marriage, children, work, etc. Whatever you plant in life you will undoubtedly reap. God cannot be mocked, whatsoever a man sows he will reap. Gal. 6. Job 4:8. Those who sow wickedness will reap much wickedness. Eccl. 11:1. Harvest is much more than the seed sown. For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind” (Hosea 8:7).
The enemy often waits for the harvest to strike by destroying the results of their planting. We see this in Judges 6. Sometimes the enemy allows people to harvest but comes as empty spirits to destroy what has been harvested, we see this in Nahum 2:2.
In conclusion, Joel 3:18 – And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, The hills shall flow with milk, And all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; A fountain shall flow from the house of the Lord. And water the Valley of Acacias.
God Bless You!
