Text: Matthew 5:8.
“8Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” NKJV
Matthew 5:8 – “Blessed [anticipating God’s presence, spiritually mature] are the pure in heart [those with integrity, moral courage, and godly character], for they will see God.”
Integrity – it is the quality of being honest and having strong moral values. We must be sincere in our faith and walk with God.
Faith – Google defines Faith as a strong belief, full trust and loyalty in a concept, thing and Person. For us as Christians, our strong belief and trust is in God through Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Heb. 11:1 defines faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Faith is doing all that is needed to be done but having confidence that God will bring it to pass. Faith does not mean you are seeing immediate result but having trust God is always working even when you don’t see it.
To Live Authentically – this means to align your thoughts, actions and life choices with your true self. God invites us to come to Him as we are, but He doesn’t intend to leave us as we are but to conform us to The Image of His Son. He takes us through a transformation process by His Holy Spirit in Us.
Elements of Authentic Living
- Self-Awareness
- Integrity
- Freedom from comparison
Faith is now; Hope is for the future. Hope for the future works by our having faith now.
What is Unfiltered Faith – it is an approach to faith characterized by honesty, authenticity, and transparency, rather than presenting a perfected “filtered image” of oneself to God and others. It is showing your true self to God
Filtered Faith – it is a polished, performance act that hides your flaws.
Why do We need to have Unfiltered Faith
- God desires truth and not perfection. John 4:23-24
- Filters give us bounds
- You could miss your blessing
Characteristics of Unfiltered Faith
- Full Trust – believing in God no matter how hard things get – e.g. Moses and the Red Sea
- Strong Passion – it’s not lukewarm, it is an active and passionate witnessing of The Lord Jesus to others
- Brave Obedience – it moves beyond comfort zone – Daniel 3:18
- Real Connection – focusing on True relationship with God
Biblical examples of People with Unfiltered Faith
- Abraham – he followed God even when he didn’t know the Land God was leading him to
- Noah – he obeyed God in building an Ark when there was no external evidence of a coming flood
How to have Unfiltered Faith
- Stop pretending to be Perfect and embrace your needs in front of God.
- Speak to God and acknowledge your true state and your needs through prayer.
- Understand that spiritual growth is not easy as it involves hard work – James 2:26
God Bless You!
