Overwhelming Testimonies – Remember Me, Oh Lord!

Overwhelming Testimonies – Remember Me, Oh Lord!

Ministering: Pastor Shola Awobajo.

Text: 1 Samuel 1:24-28.

24 And when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a bottle of wine, and brought him unto the house of the Lord in Shiloh: and the child was young. 25 And they slew a bullock, and brought the child to Eli. 26 And she said, Oh my lord, as thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here, praying unto the Lord. 27 For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him: 28 Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord. And he worshipped the Lord there.KJV.

We all need God’s help in one area or the other. God is a God Who never forgets His own. Regardless of your achievement this year, God still has much more to accomplish through you. Isaiah 51:11, says The redeemed of the Lord shall return with singing and everlasting joy will be upon their head. From Isaiah 55:11, God’s word has enough power to accomplish everything it is sent to do.

Praise is a Kingdom technology for turning impossibilities into overwhelming testimonies. From Joshua 6, we see how the wall of Jericho not only crumbled but also sank as God’s people offered praise to God. Psalm 68 says let God arise and let His enemies be scattered. As we approach year 2025, it is imperative for us to start speaking into the womb of 2025 so that greater possibilities can be birthed in our lives.

God always leads His children upward. He told Abraham to leave his father’s house as He was leading him into a land flowing with milk and honey. In the journey into the promise-land Abraham learnt a lot of lessons – patience, faith, building Altars onto the Lord, etc. Even so we as children of Abraham through Christ Jesus, are on a spiritual journey into our various promise-land and would thus confront certain challenges along the way. In Exodus, we see the children of Israel crying and calling upon the Lord to remember His promise of taking them into the promise-land, for the set time (400 years) had passed. God did not forget but was waiting for them to pray so He could have the legitimate ground to intervene on their behalf. God hearkened to their prayers by sending a deliverer (Moses) to deliver them from their task master (Pharaoh).

From our above text, we see Hannah pouring her heart pains to the Lord for a man-child. God Who sees in secret heard her and granted her petition. This teaches us that prayer is the platform for provoking God’s remembrance of His promise. God always does more than we ask for – He blessed Hannah with five more children after Samuel.

When God Remembers You?

  • God never lies, even if the situation looks hopeless, He never comes late. Num. 23:19
  • When God remembers you, all reproach ends. 1 Samuel 2:1-9
  • When God remembers you, your life will begin to give birth to His divine purpose
  • When God remembers you, the long-awaited prayer will begin to receive answers
  • When God remembers you, you will become a priority in His agenda, He will arise to favor you. Ps. 102:13
  • When God remembers you, everything will become blessed about you. When He remembered Joseph, within 24 hours, everything about His life was blessed.

What Must You do for God to Remember You?

  • Hannah rose up to the occasion by going for what belongs to her.
  • Seek the Lord’s Face in Prayers.

In closing, God is the Architect of your life, He made you and knows what is best for you in every season. Never allow the labels and stigmas of people discourage you, they are not your Maker – look to Jesus alone, the Author and Finisher of your faith. God is dependable and reliable, He will whatever He has promised to do. 1 Sam. 2:2 – There is none Holy as the Lord: for there is none beside Thee: neither is there any rock like our God.

God Bless You!
