Text: Psalm 23: 1-6.
“1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”NKJV
God is worthy to be praised for who He is and what He has done. He is always conquering for us; every year He turns our mourning into dancing, tears into laughter, and answers our prayers beyond expectations. Though God’s mercy, goodness, faithfulness and all He is are free, yet, we have a responsibility to maintain them in our lives.
How to Sustain God’s Hand in The New Year
- You must not apply last year’s strategy for this year. You must be ever conscious of God in everything you do. He must be preeminent in your heart – 2 Samuel 5:18-25. Every battle must be approached with a fresh instruction from God (no assumptions). Isaiah 30:21
- You must not harbor bitterness in your heart; else you will remain stagnant (this “Jonah” must be thrown out of the boat). Hab. 12:15, Eph. 4:31-32
- You must not neglect prayer. Our prayer aligns our destiny to the purpose of Heaven for our lives. Luke 17:1
- You must not take God’s mercy for granted. You must keep seeking Him
- You must refuse a lifestyle of complaining. Always give Him glory for everything as He can turn a wilderness into Eden. Complaining attracts serpents (demons) into your space. Numbers 11:1, 1 Cor. 10:10, Phil. 2:14
- You must walk in obedience and be sensitive to every leading of The Holy Spirit. Deut. 28:1-2, John 14:23. God dwells wherever He is honored
- You must stay rooted in thanksgiving. Psalm 67:5-7, Psalm 149:6-9
- You must be planted in the House of God. Psalm 92:13-14
- You must be faithful in your giving and Kingdom stewardship. God remembers our offering in the day of trouble.
God Bless You, Richly!
