Text: Genesis 17:1-4.
” 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.“
Our Theme as a Church for Year 2022 is “Our God is more than Enough”. Our God is The God of more than enough, Who is The All-Sufficient God and Jehovah El-Shaddai.
God is set to do awesome things this Year for His Children. All powers belong to Him. He has more than enough resources to finance any project. The pedigree and integrity of a promiser is very critical to believing their promise. God’s records of performance all through Scriptures lay credence to His faithfulness and ability to perform whatever He promises.
As The All-Sufficient God, He is committed to doing more than enough for as many that trust Him. Our above Text is about Him introducing Himself to Abraham as The All-Sufficient God Who is able to do the impossible. Hitherto in Gen. 12, He had given Abraham a 7-fold Blessing, and now He is about to make real what He promised. The age of Abraham was irrelevant as God had promised to make him the father of all the nations of the Earth.
As the Seed of Abraham in Christ Jesus, 1 Pet. 2:9 says God has brought us out of darkness to make us the showpiece of His Glory.
Between the time God called Abraham and the time the promise was fulfilled, Abraham had made certain mistakes, such as taking Lot with him, lying to Abimelech about the identity of his wife (Sarah), etc. God had to reintroduce Himself and charge him to walk before Him and be blameless. God is set to make His promise real in your life, but you have to do away with every besetting sin.
All you need to succeed this Year is God (vain is the help of man). Seek Him and walk before Him blameless in all your ways for He is a God of Covenant Who keeps His promise to those whose hearts are loyal to Him. Never forget that you are a child of destiny as a Seed of Abraham.
If God Must Be Your All-Sufficient God in Year 2022
- Stay within The Covenant. Gen. 17:1
- Surrender to Him totally to provoke His uncommon blessing. Gen. 22:15-18
- Give an uncommon sacrifice. 1 Kings 3:4-28
- Give attention to details. Hearken diligently to do all He commands. Deut. 28:1-2
- Be grateful and thankful to Him for everything – Psalm 67:5-7
- Stay glued to God this Year and see if He will not prove Himself mighty in your life.
- Relax and do not try to help God fulfill His promise. He is The Immortal, Invisible, The Only Wise God.
God Bless You!
