Text: Exodus 33:12-23.
“ 12 And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up these people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13 Now, therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. 14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15 And he said unto him, If thy presence goes not with me, carry us not up hence. 16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. 17 And the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18 And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. 19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by. 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.”
The Hour has come for The Lord to glorify His Name in your life – this is the month of your Glory. The Glory of God is the Greatest Thing you can ever ask from God – far beyond any material thing. The Glory of God is The Beauty of God, The Face of God, and The Entirety of Every Thing God is. Asking for The Glory of God is asking for every Attribute of God – His Mercy, Goodness, Power, and The Very Essence of His Being. You are asking Him for Every Thing that makes Him God.
The discourse of our above Text is about Moses’ desire for The Presence of God and God caused His Glory to manifest. He was about leading the Israelite into the Promise Land and craved God’s Presence for the journey. He asked The Lord to show him His Glory. The Glory of God is The Power and Majesty of God in manifestation.
The Effects of Seeing The Glory of God
1. Your relationship with God will change. Isa. 6:1, 5-8
2. Your Worship life will change
3. There will be a tangible reflection of that Glory in your life – Exod. 34:35
4. Your relationship with others will change – Isa. 6, Eph. 4:31-32
In closing, The Glory of God is not far-fetched; as His Redeemed in Christ Jesus, we are the candidates to reflect His Glory. 1 Thess. 5: 5 – Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Isa. 60:1-2 says “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His Glory will be seen upon you.”
God Bless You!
