Text: Exodus 5:1-9.
“1 And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. 2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go. 3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the Lord our God; lest he falls upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. 4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens. 5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens. 6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying, 7 Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves. 8 And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. 9 Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labor therein; and let them not regard vain words.“
“Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness”.
The Word of The Lord this morning is your season of New Beginning has come. Before any New Beginning, there must first be a Liberation. Liberation is needed because there has been slavery. Slavery is anti-freedom, it is a master laying his will and desire upon a slave. Slaves have no rights except that given to them by the master.
Israel had been in Slavery for over 400 Years and Pharaoh was adamant to liberating them, thus hindering them from going to worship and serve their God. This means slavery could hinder one’s ability to freely worship and serve God. God is always determined to liberate and set His People free from any form of satanic slavery and bondage. Amos 9:11-15 says “But also on that Judgment Day I will restore David’s house that has fallen to pieces. I’ll repair the holes in the roof, replace the broken windows, fix it up like new. David’s people will be strong again and seize what’s left of enemy Edom, plus everyone else under my sovereign judgment.” God’s Decree. He will do this. Yes indeed, it won’t be long now.” God’s Decree. “Things are going to happen so fast your head will swim, one thing fasts on the heels of the other. You won’t be able to keep up. Everything will be happening at once—and everywhere you look blessings! Blessings like wine pouring off the mountains and hills. I’ll make everything right again for my people Israel: “They’ll rebuild their ruined cities. They’ll plant vineyards and drink good wine. They’ll work in their gardens and eat fresh vegetables. And I’ll plant them, plant them on their own land. They’ll never again be uprooted from the land I’ve given them.” God, your God, says so.
The God of Liberation Who showed Himself Strong and Terrible to Pharaoh on behalf of Israel will do the same for you against any force trying to keep you in bondage. He devastated Egypt, even killed all their firstborn in a bid to let His People go.
The God of Liberation is The One that rules in the affairs of men and none can withstand His power. Psalm 22:28 says “For the kingdom is The Lord’s, And He rules over the nations.” To everything, there is a Season, the Season for Israel’s Liberation came and God would stop at nothing to let His People Go. That Same God is saying to you this morning, this is Your Season of Liberation – your being in slavery is an insult to Your Father Who is The God of Heaven and Earth.
LIBERATION means to set you free from conferment, bondage, or any resistance. It is a process to free someone from the control of a force. John 10:10 says “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly”.
Things That Chain Men Down
1. Sin – Sin will keep a person in perpetual bondage. It will make The Grace of God ineffective in a person’s life. Judges 6:12, Heb. 10:26
2. Ungodly Habits – such as bitterness, murmuring, etc. Num. 11:4-6
3. Our Mental Thoughts – a slavery or grasshopper mentality will keep a person in bondage, hence we need to renew our minds with The Word of God.
4. Ignorance – Lack of knowledge is a terrible disease. Hosea 4:6
5. Demonic Forces – no matter the demonic force (like Pharaoh), they all bow to The Authority of The Name of Jesus. Your Lord is The Head of All Principality and Power. Eph. 6:10-13 – Finally, my brethren, be strong in The Lord and in the power of His might.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
In closing, it is the will of The Father to set you free, for if The Son shall set you free, you shall be free indeed.
