Text: Isaiah 9:1-7 – ” 6. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this”.
It takes The Zeal of The Lord of Hosts to cause a great turnaround.
The Christmas season is not really a period of worldly felicitation, but a time to appreciate our Lord for coming to give us His Life.
The Lord Jesus paid a gruesome price of laying down His life in order that we can experience a great turnaround. Isaiah 9:2 – “The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.” It would take only God to cause the great turnaround of the destiny of any man. Man cannot offer a great turnaround to his fellow man without God’s intervention.
The first thing that opened up The New Testament is This Great Tiding of The Incarnation of Jesus Christ. It is a season of great joy. Luke 2:10 – “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.” We are in the season of a Great Turnaround; it might seem nothing is happening but be assured God is always working behind the scene. We had about 400 Years of silence between Malachi and Matthew, but God was working all through as we saw Him manifest in the flesh in the Person of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1. John 1:14 says The Word became flesh and dwelled among us. Galatians 4:4 – But when the fulness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law.
Most of the time, when a glad tiding is coming from Heaven, it is preceded with “Fear Not” – Luke 1:13, 30. Fear is a bondage that killed many before their time. God has not given us a spirit of fear. You may not know how your great turnaround will come, but God says fear not. He said in Heb. 4:12 that His Word is Quick and Powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword. When the power of God falls upon your life, every difficulty becomes a cheap possibility.
Criteria for Great Turnaround in Mary’s Life
1. She is highly favored
2. The Lord is with you
3. She is blessed / highly favored among all women.
In closing, when the Great Turnaround came to Zechariah and Elizabeth, barrenness turned to Fruitfulness. Luke
1:67-70. Luke 1:37 says Nothing, you see, is impossible with God.
