Text: Isaiah 9:1-7.
“1Nevertheless, the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. 2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. 3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 4 For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. 5 For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood, but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. 6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son, is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” KJV
God is a Master Planner; before Man fell, God instituted a Plan for our Redemption. Initially, it was through the blood of animals (in the Old Testament), but that was insufficient and God had something far better as an atonement for Man’s sin. God’s Perfect ransom for humanity was none other than His Son … The Lord Jesus Christ. Gal. 4:4-5 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. What is the meaning of Christmas? It is a celebration of God manifesting in the Flesh in the Person of His Son to save humanity. His Name “Emmanuel” means “God with Us”. His Birth and conception were not a mistake but a fulfillment of Prophecy.
He came to bring us out of darkness and placed us in His Marvelous Light. We are who we are today because of our identity and union with Christ The King. He was made a curse for us so we could be redeemed from the curse of the law. He not only redeemed us from generational curses but also bestowed upon us the Blessing of Abraham. This is the Good News we are celebrating at Christmas. He is the totality of all the solutions that man needs. He is the only medium of Man’s Fellowship with God. Without the shedding of Blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. 1 John 1:7, Romans 9:5. He is the Word that was at the beginning with God. He is the Life that carries a Light that darkness cannot comprehend. He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life, no man comes to The Father except through Him.
He is not only our redeemer but also our only means of fulfilling God’s Destiny. Christ in You, the Hope of Glory.
While His Blood redeems us and brings us in fellowship with God; His Name gives us authority over the powers of darkness. At the mention of His Name, every knee bows, and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord to The Glory of The Father. What a Gift, God has given to us in The Person of Jesus Christ. Everything, every circumstance, every sickness, and every curse, bows to the Name of Jesus. The Name of The Lord is a strong Tower, the Righteous run into it and are safe.
In closing, Romans 10:13 says – whosoever shall call upon the Name of Jesus shall be saved. Acts 4:12 – Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. He is The Prince of Peace, there is no true Peace outside Him.
