Choice is the One thing God gives to man that he himself does not have power to control. Choice is simply “Will Power”. Gen. 2:15 tells us our will power came from God; man was put in charge of everything in the Garden. Everything in creation is showcasing the power, beauty and wisdom of God. Gen. 2:17 was God’s test to assess man’s power of choice. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” God gave us a “Will Power” to willing obedience.”

Choice is the ability of a man to weigh his or her option. Choice is a free will to make an advantageous decision. Every choice we make will either be to our advantage or disadvantage. No choice leaves us the same way. There is power in whatever we select in life. Life is always presenting us with choices and God expects us to run every choice through Him. He alone can guide our choices aright. Wherever you are today is a result of the choices you made yesterday. Whatever you will be tomorrow is a function of whatever choice you are making today. Man proposes, God disposes. God does not make choices for man, but He is ever willing to guide whosoever asks for His input.

We cannot afford not making choices in life; it is unavoidable every day. Always align yourself to God’s will in every decision. Your choices should be based on God’s will for your life. We did not create ourselves, hence, we are incapable of making right choices without God’s help. God always step in to help every willing heart.

There are 3 major choices in life that make or mar You:

  • Choosing when You give Your Life to Christ
  • Your Career Path
  • Who You Marry

None of the three above, should be made without seeking God’s help. The Bible was given to help to us navigate our choices in life. The Bible is a “cheat-sheet” to making the right choices. God has a will for us in every decision. We must allow His will override our will because He knows infinitely more than we do. He knows what we don’t know. God knows tomorrow and thus able to know the best decision we need to make today. There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Prov. 14:12. Deut. 30:19 says, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before your life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.” Our choices not only affect us, but people connected to us. For instance, the choices parents make affect their children. Rev. 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and dine with him, and he with Me”. God is not going to force the door of our Heart to open, we are to open it willingly for Him to come in.

Joshua 1:8 says “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” This Scripture is the “Cheat-code” to success in life. God wishes we succeed in life, hence told us in 3 John 2 – “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” We should make good choices for our bodily healthy (good food, exercises, etc.) and soul’s prosperity (the word of God abiding in us).

Jer. 29:11 – “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Romans 12:2 tells us – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

In closing, The Lord tells all who need help – “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

God bless you!
